Dani Pedrosa doubled his race-victory numbers for the MotoGP racing season in the last race of the year with a victory at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit. 2009 champion Valentino Rossi and runner up Jorge Lorenzo completed the podium.

World Champion Valentino Rossi followed the Repsol Honda rider home in second, as he ended his title-winning season with his 13th MotoGP podium spot of the season.
Rossi's team-mate Jorge Lorenzo, notched third place almost 3 seconds later but was already assured of overall second spot in the campaign due to Stoner's failure to start the race.

Wildcard rider Ben Spies notched an impressive seventh-placed finish, pushing Dovizioso into eighth. Britains James Toseland agian struggled to make an impact finishing 12th in the race leaving him well down the order at 14th in the overall championship standings.
